I came across the 'beachhutdoctors' whilst on my way to view a beach hut we wanted to buy. As a beach hut newbie the advice that James gave to me that day has proved invaluable regarding amongst other things, position, maintenance, weather and interior design! It’s summer 2016 and James from beach hut doctors came to look at our existing beach hut. It wasn’t in good shape. So we decided to bite the bullet and have a replacement hut built. We are so glad we did. Our new hut is so much better built than our previous one, constructed of better timber, painted better, reasonably priced, in fat better in every way. On top of all that James was a delight to work with. We worked out what we wanted together, he fitted in with our schedule and delivered bang on time. He’s also a lovely guy. We know that there are a number of people looking after and building beach huts in Brighton and Hove. We can’t say that you won’t find someone that you won’t like as much as we liked James or wouldn’t do as good a job. We can say for sure, though, that you won’t find someone who will do a better job or be better to work with. He was faultless and delightful.

Having been caught by one of the many storms that hit the south coast, I needed immediate help to secure my hut and ongoing help to replace it.

I first used Beach Hut Doctors in 2008 and I've been used them ever since. From complete exterior re-decorations including replacement hardware to full interior decorating - these guys are the business. James provides full and concise quotes and take you through the detail about the work that needs doing. They don't scrimp on materials - because, let’s face it, our Beach Huts need to be in tip top condition to meet all the elements Brighton & Hove seafront throws at them. They advise and recommend the right marine quality wood, heavy duty galvanised door furniture and paints and they offer loads of advice about how to look after your hut. They are pretty nifty at building internal shelves, seats, tables etc. and are always open to ideas. All jobs are started and carried out exactly when they say they will be.

Our beach hut was in a sorry state at the beginning of summer so we contacted James. He met us at the hut and we discussed what needed to be done. He gave us a clear quote for a new roof, an outside paint and some tweaking of other little bits that needed sorting.

James made the changes we wanted, started and finished on time, to a very high standard, and there were no ‘extras’ in the price even though he did some extra bits of work.
